Next Meetup: March 21st

Our next meetup will be March 21st and the time will be 3pm. Let us
diversify this meeting, we have a member from Racine now. I would like
to see a meeting in Racine, does Regency Mall have Wi-Fi? We could
window shop there or any We could also do any other Surround City/
Town in IL, because we also have a member or 2 there as well. Or would
could just stick to Kenosha?

So, the meeting place is up to you guys. I would like to find a place
sooner or later, that would allow others to bring their desktop
because some of us, don't own a laptop/netbook. Renting maybe an

Next Meetup Feb 21st

Taken from our Google Mailing List:
" Hey all,

Looks like the next meeting will be February 21st, at my apartment. 6pm - 9pm.

4134 Washington Road Apt 206
Kenosha, WI 53144
(when you find the apartment building, park across from the building - adjacent spots are for residents.)

We need to start having topics/an agenda for meetings. Any suggestions for this one? I'll likely show off my MythTV box to those who are interested, but have no plans other than that.

Feel free to bring snacks, drinks, etc. to the meeting.

Meeting Topics

As we slowly get interest in our little group, we should start thinking about having some topics of interest. One of the main reason I wanted a local LUG was to learn more and also share the bits that I know with others in a real world environment.

Let's use this thread to list either requests for topics you'd like to learn more about or if there is a topic your very fluent in and would like to share with the group.

Next Meetup, Sat Jan 24th or 31st

Our next meetup will be Saturday, January 24th/31st, 2009. The second
meeting of 2009. The place is up to everyone in this LUG. Chad has
talked about possibly doing an install fest or a meet up in his
Basement. If the offer still stands, I would like to see Chad (our
fearless leader :P ) doing an Install (possibly Arch?) Fest. I still
can't do a Arch Install (and I'm a distrohopper)!

Things like this will be more flexible, we could order pizza, get more
relaxed, have a pint, etc. As I live in Prairie and in a Mobile Home, I

Next Meet up: Jan 3rd (or over winter break?)

January 3rd, 2009 at 3pm. Looking for suggestions for WiFi hotspots
for the meet up. Panera Bread is nice but not all can us there WiFi
(i.e. tablets :P).

Also, If there is a member of this LUG that goes to Carthage College
(Jameson?) or UW - Parkside, we may be able to go to a tech lab if
that student accompanies us.

On another note. The school district has me off from Dec 19th to Jan
5th... long time to be off and bored. If any of you have some spare
time, we can do a meet up over the winter holidays.

Many Blessings

Next Meetup?

Coffee Shop Meetings?

hello everyone,
i'm looking forward to meeting with all of you at some point. i'm
posting this to find out if any of you would like to go out for some
coffee or meal. Currently, I work for Kenosha Unified School District
but my schedule isn't set in stone because I'm a substitute. My
availability for the job has to be 2:45p-12a M-F and a sporadic
weekday off . Weekends seems to be the most open for me.

Anyone interested can contact me here or at these sites below

Finally, some changes/additions coming

I've been doing a little behind the scenes work this week. I really want to see something happen with Linux and this community.

Stay tuned.
